Admission Requirements

St. Luke's College is dedicated to educating competent and compassionate health care professionals who are prepared to practice in a global community.  The programs at St. Luke's are academically challenging and applicants are evaluated on the following criteria:

  • High School Record (GPA)
  • Quality of High School Coursework
  • ACT Examination Results (or equivalent)
  • College Record (if applicable)
  • Application Essay
  • Shadowing Experience (varies by program)

Admission applications for the academic programs at St. Luke's College are reviewed on a continual basis with academic programs beginning in the Fall (radiology, respiratory care, nursing) Spring (Accelerated BSN), and in the Summer (Nurse Refresher). Bachelor's degree completion programs and general education courses are offered in each semester.  Applicants are encouraged to have all required documents submitted well in advance. 

Applicants seeking entrance into one of the Associate Degree programs must meet the following college admission criteria:

College Admission Criteria

  • Graduation from high school with a minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.50 or completion of a high school equivalency examination such as GED or HiSET.
  • Complete the American College Test (ACT) with a minimum composite score of 19, or an equivalent score on a comparable examination. 
  • Applicants who do not meet the above criteria may be considered upon completion of transferable college coursework with a cumulative grade point average of 2.30.  College coursework will be evaluated on the quantity, quality and relationship to the St. Luke's College curriculum. 
  • In addition, program specific requirements may include: job shadowing, personal references and/or participation in an admissions visit with the program of interest.

Accelerated BSN Program Requirements

  • College Admission Criteria
  • Completion of 64 credits of pre-requisite courses (cumulative GPA of 2.80)

Bachelor's Degree Completion Program Requirements

Applicants seeking entrance into the Bachelor of Science in Nursing Degree Completion Program (RN-BSN) must meet the following:

  • College Admission Criteria
  • Graduation from an accredited registered nurse program (associate degree or diploma)
  • Hold a current unencumbered license as a registered nurse

Applicants seeking entrance into the Bachelor of Health Science Degree Completion Program must meet the following:

  • College Admission Criteria
  • Earned an associate degree, diploma or certificate in an allied health program (radiologic technology, respiratory therapy, surgical technology, paramedic, etc.)
  • Completed a minimum of 24 credits in allied health coursework
  • Applicants who have not yet completed a degree, diploma certificate may be considered for admission based on credits hours completed

In addition to meeting the College Admission Criteria, international applicants are required to provide the following:

  • Proof of legal United States residency
  • Official certified translated academic documents
  • Applicants for whom English is a second language must submit a Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) score of 61 or above of iBT-internet based or 500 or above if PBT paper based.
  • Letter of recommendation from a secondary school official
  • Completed financial documents demonstrating that funds necessary to cover tuition and living expenses are available while enrolled at the College.
  • Applicants need to be able to read and write English and speak English in such a way as to be understood.
  • The international applicant is subject to all College admission policies as well as regulations of the United States Immigration and Naturalization Services.  Due to limited resources to support international students, St. Luke's College does not authorize request for temporary or student visas.
